Homemade Weights

The bikini challenge is starting next week. Some muscles need to be targeted with weights. If you don't want to invest in weights you can use the following creative ideas to make alternative weights at home for free:-

Dumbbell Alternative:

  1. Empty the water from two matching plastic water bottles and let dry. Use large bottles for heavier weight and you can also use two small bottles for lighter weights.
  2. Place the bottles on a scale and being to fill them with a filler. The filler will depend on how heavy you want the weights. For lighter weights use rice. For heavier weights use sand or pebbles.
  3. Place a line of glue inside each bottle cap and screw securely. Let it dry.
  4. Put a number on the bottle that corresponds with how heavy the weight is e.g. 4 or 5

Sandbag Alternative:

  1.  Get an old luggage or sports bag. Make sure the bag is very strong and resistant.
  2. Buy some cheap rice, divide it into plastic sandwich bags so you know how much weight is in each or alternatively you can buy cheap rice in 1kg bags. This allows you to adjust your weight easily and quickly for different exercises.
  3. Add as much weight into the bag as you need.

Reverse Push Ups Bar:

  1. Get two chairs and put them a few feet apart with their backs to each other.
  2. Get a sweeping brush and place in between the chairs so that It balances.
  3. Place some sort of weight on either chair if they are quite light so that they don’t tip over.
