Booking a holiday early can be great motivation to get in shape. You are determined to get fit and toned and reach your goals within a realistic timeframe.
Last year we went to the Greek Islands and absolutely loved it and will be definitely going there again. A lot of my friends have asked me about the holiday as a possible holiday destination this summer so I decided to write a post on it.

We decided we didn’t want a holiday involving a long flight after coming
back from Australia a few months previous. In Australia, everywhere you holiday is hours away,
so we just wanted a nice easy holiday for a change. So instead of flying to Athens, waiting a
few hours to get another ferry or internal flight which would take about 7-11
hours, we researched it and found islands that were easy to get to and close to each other. We decided to fly Easyjet to Santorini from London (3 hours). We booked this in advance and got them really cheap.
We wanted to see another island within the 10 days so we booked a ferry from Santorini to Ios (the nearest island) which took less than an hour (return ticket about £30). We booked our ferry online before we left as the summers can be quite busy there but there was no problems buying tickets the time we were there. We flew into Santorini and headed for the ferry to Ios straight away.

In Ios we stayed in a beautiful hotel called Dionysos Seaside Resort. This hotel has received 5 stars on tripadvisor. We choose Dionysos for the secluded gardens and pool, the atmosphere of calm and privacy, the short distance from the sea and the nightlife.Starting from the fresh ingredients of the breakfast by the pool, the tasty menu for lunch to the "lazy"cocktails on the sunbeds , the staff were always smiling making us feeling as we were in our own villa. The hotel is located on Mylopotas beaah which is the best beach in Ios. In the evening there are a lot of tavernas, pizzeria, bars, clubs and if you wish you can rent a car, a quad or just take a taxi or a bus to go to Chora (5 minutes away). If you want somewhere lively, the Far Out Bar is also close by which is full of young people and has pool parties. We liked the option of staying somewhere quiet and relaxing and having those options close by. If you need to unwind and forget stress Dionysos is the right place.
We stayed 7 days there and it cost us about £350 in total for the 7 nights. Because we booked early and the fact we went in late June we got such a good deal. We will 100% go back to this hotel in the future.

We then got the ferry back to Santorini for three nights. Santorini is the southernmost of the Cyclades, it is famed for its
sunsets, wine and the turquoise sea that surrounds it. Santorini is known as
the most dramatic and beautiful of all the Greek islands. It is popular for
weddings and honeymoons. There are two
sides to the island of Santorini, there is the beach side of the island (black sand as it is a volcanic
island) and then there is the cliff side facing the Caldera (volcanic feature usually formed by the collapse of land following a volcanic eruption).
We decided to take a hotel room facing the caldera and as you watch the ships dock below to watch the sunset, you will realise that you are looking at one of the most beautiful and romantic views. The view is quite famous and can be reguarly seen in adverts. This part of Santorini is very expensive hence we only stayed three nights. The hotel for three nights cost us more than our 7 nights in Ios. We thought it was definitely worth investing in a more expensive hotel with a view of the caldera. I have never been somewhere so beautiful.
Agali Houses is ideally located in the village of Firostefani, just a 10 minute walk from the main town of Fira. Agali is built in a beautiful, traditional Greek style. Each room is individually decorated and offers views from its own patio. This hotel also received 5 stars on Tripadvisor. There is nothing I could fault about the Agali House. The views were magnificent and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bottle of wine is another example of the small little things that make this a great hotel to stay in. The room we were assigned was clean, spacious and very tastefully done, not to mention the magnificent views you get the moment you step out of your room onto the balcony area. It's in an excellent location with plenty of good quality restaurants nearby with authentic Greek food and fresh fish and not the usual touristy fare. Breakfast is generous and of good quality and the dining area it's served in is just the perfect way to start the day with glorious views of the caldera!

I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday in the sun. We had such a good time and will definitely be going back.
We have learned that with a lot of research you can have 5 star perfection without the price tag.
