5 Foods To Eat Before Bed For a Flat Belly

Most people think it is a sin to eat past 7pm as any food taken a second after this time will be stored straight to your belly, thighs and love handles.

Some good news-this is NOT TRUE! There are certain foods you can eat late at night that can actually INCREASE your fat loss. They key is knowing which foods to eat and avoid.

Rules:

CARBS

Slow Digesting Protein Tick

Remember as I have stated before, carbohydrates cause a rise in the storage hormone insulin which also stops fat-burning.

Slow digesting protein provides your body with amino acids throughout the night to help you recover from exercise and maintain your calorie burning muscle as you lose fat.

Top Bedtime Snacks:

1. White Meat Protein- Chicken/Turkey- they digest slowly and have a low insulin release. Promote release of hormone glucagon that helps body to break down stored carbs and fat to use as energy

2. Cottage Cheese- is a really slow digesting protein and stimulates glucagon release which is great for fat-loss. Make sure it’s not flavoured cottage cheese as these have added sugars. Add some cinnamon to flavour.

3. Green Vegetables- Not a protein but extremely low calories and high in fibre which means they are filling. Kills you cravings so you don’t give into junk food late at night.

4. Almonds, peacans, walnuts or pistachios- great source of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants but provide fibre and healthy fats to control cravings late at night.

5. Protein Shake- A slow digesting protein shake before bed.  This is not your regular whey protein.
